Equal Exchange, founded in 1986, is the oldest and largest for-profit Fair Trade company in the U.S. We sell organic, gourmet coffee, tea, and chocolate produced by small farmer co-ops in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Check out our story and what others say about us.
So Who are ‘We All’?
Equal Exchange is around 100 people, here are a few of us. But we don’t do this alone. We are part of a community of traders, investors, farmers, consumers and activists. A community that is working together to change the very nature of trade. A community with a 20 year track record of success and a vision for the next twenty years

Who am I?
I am Alistair Williamson, a Scot, born in Malawi, who’s lived and worked in the U.S. for the last 20 years. I’m based in Portland, Oregon, along with Elisabeth Miles, we are the team that raises capital for Equal Exchange and supports our investors.
